A New Wizard

It’s been a very long time since I played Wizard101. Years even. Usually we’re playing Pirate101 and we share our adventures at A Pirates Portal. Unfortunately the pandemic has impacted everyone, including our friends at KingsIsle. So there hasn’t been a pirate update in quite a while.

Wizard101 was their first game, released in 2008. Pirate came later. And there are more players on Wizard101 as well. The folks at KingsIsle have put a lot of their pandemic focus on Wizard, which has allowed for more updates and enhancements over the past year.

Today I finally found the inspiration to put some of my, stuck in the house, focus to playing. Since I’m all caught up in Pirate, I decided to start from scratch and find everything new in Wizard City with a new Wizard.

Allow me to introduce Victoria Thundercoud!
She’s a Life Element Wizard. And she’s already completed the task over on Unicorn Way. This afternoon, she met the School Professors, picked up the Finding the Smiths quest from Zeke and even dropped a few things in her dorm room.

She joins our other Wizards who have been around for long time.

Going through the Spiral from scratch will also help to update our guides here at Fireheart’s Keep. So stay tuned and come back to visit from time to time. Check out our Game Guides on our A-Z Content page. Or just walk around the place and peruse our past posts.

Wizard101’s 2021 Spring Update

On April 28, 2021 KingsIsle announced a round of exciting new updates for Wizard101!

“Challenge New Bosses and Reap the Rewards in Wizard101’s Spring Update”

KI first introduced Wizard101 in 2008. Today, the story-driven game spans across 19 worlds, with fun and exciting combat, lots of Pets, and boasts a passionate community. Over more than twelve years, Wizard101 has continued to evolve and entertain more than fifty million player!

This update contains exciting new boss fights that have awesome rewards and new ways for players to meet up and share their love of Wizards.

KingsIsle Has Been Sold

The Acquisition of KingsIsle

On January 18, 2021 KingsIsle announced on their business blog that they had entered into an agreement with Gamigo. for the acquisition of Wizard101 and Pirate101. Gamigo’s official title: Media and Games Invest PLC, is a digital integrated games and media company with a main operational presence in Europe and North America. They purchased KI for $126m USD, plus earn-outs.

That’s all fine and good, but what does that mean for Pirates of the Spiral?

In KI’s announcement they stated “let me assure you that the friendly faces that you’ve come to know and love aren’t changing and we’re full steam ahead on the next updates and laying the foundation for the year to come.” Continue reading →

It’s Thanksgiving Again

We would like to extend our thanks to all of you for visiting our blog throughout this past year.
And we send out A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours for a wonderful and happy Celebration!

In 1846, Sarah Josepha Hale, editor of a magazine called Godley’s Lady’s Book, campaigned for an annual national thanksgiving holiday after a passage about the harvest gathering of 1621 was discovered and incorrectly labeled as the first Thanksgiving.

It wasn’t until 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln declared two national Thanksgivings; one in August to commemorate the Battle of Gettysburg and the other in November to give thanks for “general blessings.” ~ National Geographic: The First Thanksgiving.

A Pirate101 Addiction

It’s been a very long time since we’ve played Wizard101. That’s because we have become addicted to Pirate101.

There have been a lot of new updates and enhancements to Wizard that we don’t know about. For instance, a reader let us know that the 9th yardbird isn’t in the location we have here on the Keep..they put a teleport hub there. And we don’t know where the new on is…..yet. But I’m not sure when we’ll be able to get back into the game to find it.

A lot has changed in the Wizarding Spiral. New worlds, new pets and mounts, new equipment and quests have all been added to the game since the last time we were there in 2014.

There are many wonderful Fan Sites that focus on Wizard101. Don’t forget to visit with them. You can find an official list of sites on the Wizard101 FanSites list.
